About Us
When I started DW on Sport in early 2010, I never expected to still be going strong all this time later. However, almost nine years later, there have been over 250,000 visitors to the site, which still amazes me every time that I realise how many people cared enough to read something that I have written. The most well-known articles have undoubtedly been the match fixing articles that I have written, the most popular of which attracted almost 30,000 visitors to the site in less than 24 hours, but I have a general fascination with trying to understand sport, often via the numbers, and that has been the driving motivation to keep the site going.
For something that started simply to occupy my time after tearing my ACL, the site has turned into a place to put down my thoughts and hopefully provide some useful information for others, whether they be gamblers or simply people looking to understand sport a bit better. It has also provided the opportunity for me to be interviewed by the BBC, The Times, The Economist and FiveThirtyEight among others.
